By originals - I literally mean, Originals. The three pictures below this are completely unedited and untouched (I actually had to dig though my recycling bin to retrieve these pictures! - Thank you whoever invented the recycling bin!!)

When I first took on this project, I was completely unsure as to whether or not I’d be able to pull it off. We didn’t have any glass jars (or glass anything for that matter) that didn’t have any curves in it. I didn’t want there to be curves in the jar, because I knew that you would be able to see the curves, and the reflection of the light in the jar once the picture was taken, and honestly, I knew it’d be a pain to have to remove in photoshop.

I searched all over the house, and read many articles on what I could use to possibly hold the water for this project. I found one article that said to use a fish tank, and I thought “Oh! We have a fish tank - that’d be perfect!”, and I made my loving father go into the garage and get it out. Sad to say though, the fish tank was humongous and I became unsure of how I wouldn’t get water in it, and out of it, quickly, and with out having to waste a ton of water.

So, I made a final decision to go to the Goodwill store just down from my house. I told myself, if I can’t find something that’ll work - I’ll have to tell our design team that I just simply couldn’t find something to work for this project. I didn’t want to have to say that to them - so I was determined to find something that worked. After searching through every aisle, high and low, I finally found something that was small, and didn’t have to much of a curve to it.

I said to myself - well, it’s only $1.25. Might as well give it a try, right? And boy was I glad I gave it a try.

I set up our studio, put a nice white sheet over a table we had, aimed the light on my subject, grabbed our dye, filled the jar with water, and had a go at it. Trying many different colours and different times of when to take the photograph.
